After a year in the film industry working on Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby, Kieran founded CATO Location Services in 2012. He saw a gap in the market for crew that understood the intricacies of filming and how a set works. Initially established to provide premium support to the Film, TV and Events industries, CATO has since grown into the largest location services company in Sydney. We have worked on the largest Australian productions and events of the past decade, including City of Sydney NYE, the Mad Max franchise, and Sydney WorldPride Pride March.
Since 2012, the CATO umbrella has expanded. From the acquisition of the iconic Australian makeup and wardrobe trucks, to the successful establishment of sister companies StreetSTRONG – a company specialising in stamped asphalt and decorative streetscapes – and O MY POD – the Green Room container pods created with the Film, TV and Events industries in mind. The expansion, positions CATO as an indispensable partner, and one-stop-shop in the film, events, and urban development sectors.
In 2022 Kieran spent over two months in Bhutan, shooting on location for the National Geographic series Pole to Pole with Will Smith. Kieran consulted on all things Traffic, Unit and Logistics for the production. He worked with Nutopia UK who CATO have previously collaborated with on the series Limitless with Chris Hemsworth.

As General Manager at CATO, Anna leads and oversees the core business operations, client experience, and overall performance across the organisation. Her role has expanded to include leadership of client-facing departments, operations, safety and compliance, and financial oversight, ensuring each part of the business operates efficiently and upholds CATO’s values of excellence.
Since joining the business five years ago as an Account Manager, Anna has consistently delivered results across high-profile, high-pressure environments. She has been instrumental in the management of logistics for one of the Southern Hemisphere’s largest events, City of Sydney’s New Year’s Eve celebrations, where she oversaw the operations and safety of stakeholders and 250+ crew on the ground from the GCC. Anna’s expertise lies in liasing with councils and key stakeholders, ensuring seamless collaboration and communication.
Anna has played a key role in implementing streamlined systems and workflows, improving operational efficiency, scalability, and team accountability across the organisation. She also oversees CATO’s ISO accreditation and compliance with safety standards, reflecting a strong focus on risk management, quality assurance, and continuous improvement.

— Joining CATO as Sales Manager, Dan brings to the role over two decades of experience in sales and client relations.
Since relocating to Australia in 2017, he has led sales teams across NSW, building strong partnerships and delivering tailored solutions for clients. A lifelong sports enthusiast, Dan spends his downtime following rugby league, cheering on the Sydney Roosters, as well as cricket and football. Outside of work, he enjoys beach days and watching his son play sports. Fun fact: Dan’s cousin, Justin Fitzpatrick, represented Ireland 26 times in Rugby Union. He’s most excited about the endless growth opportunities ahead for CATO and being part of such a great team.

Kate joined CATO as an Account Coordinator, over three years ago. Her operational mindset, adaptability, and strong client focus saw her rise into a Senior Account Manager role, where she now oversees the CX team, major film projects, large-scale events, and Tier 1 construction projects. Bringing with her a diverse background across hospitality, events, and film. Originally from Hobart, she holds a degree in Screen and Media Production and has since built an impressive career managing both creative and operationally complex projects.

Naomi has worked across multiple departments and productions, gaining a deep understanding of the business from the ground up. After two years backpacking around the world and completing her Bachelor of Film and TV, Naomi has rejoined CATO full-time as part of our client services team. Having visited 27 countries, Naomi brings a global perspective and infectious enthusiasm to every project. A creative at heart, Naomi spends her downtime experimenting with special effects makeup, DIY projects, and DJing.

Cass brings a blend of creativity and client-focused experience to her role as Account Manager, drawing on seven years in account management and her background in Design, including time with the SXSW Sydney Screen team. A nature lover and lifelong creative, she spends her downtime outdoors or working on arts and fashion projects.
— With a background in customer service and executive support, Hazelle always strives to deliver the best experience for our clients.
Having recently come on board in the role of Account Manager, Hazelle is the newest addition to the CATO team. Having worked for over a decade in customer service and closely supporting executives across US, UK, and Australia, she brings extensive knowledge and experience to the role. Hazelle is very family oriented and loves spending time with her three Persian cats—Wasabi, Shoyu, and Mirin.
— Leaving engineering to join CATO during the early days, Craig has worked his way up the ranks over 10+ years with the business.
Craig works across both our traffic and unit departments as a Traffic Manager and Senior Unit Manager. He is highly knowledgeable and experienced in both of these spaces, with credits including Limitless with Chris Hemsworth, Heartbreak High and many others.
— With CATO since 2014, Michael is an expert when it comes to all things traffic control.
In his role as Traffic Manager, he has drawn thousands of traffic guidance schemes over the years. Knowledgeable and highly organised, Michael is excellent at troubleshooting all traffic-related challenges. He is a WHS officer and now also works in the Safety space for Film, TV and Events.

Kat has over five years of traffic experience working on large-scale projects. An expert at what she does, Kat is a highly skilled Traffic Manager out on the road and helps pull together many of our planning documents.

Aktan loves getting to know his teammates so he can best understand how to match the right person with the right job. Aktan also works across the logistics component.
— Brodie oversees the CATO warehouse crew and is across all of our vehicles and equipment.
Brodie joined CATO in 2020, and has been an integral part of the team working across logistics, management and the implementation of HVM for various long form projects and COS events. Having gained extensive knowledge and experience at CATO, Brodie has undertaken numerous other roles as a unit manager and driver, traffic manager and now has the ability to fit out production vehicles making him an invaluable crew member.
CATO has 6 unit managers who’ve had the opportunity to work across Australia, from WA to far North Queensland. the majority of our unit managers are based in Sydney however, we’re always open to interstate opportunities.
CATO offers over 20 crew options within the safety space, covering the majority of states and working across film, TV, TVC and events.
